Service with Guts 2.0

Worldpack expands her warehouse facility

Like many retailers, we’ve been through a lot of changes over the last two years. Our next big change is almost here and we’re excited to share with you what it means for us and our valued customers.

In 2022, we will be moving our HQ and warehousing facilities to a new location, which will allow us to fulfil more orders, deliver products faster and expand our range of in-store products & services as part of our continued commitment to Service with Guts.

Many of us have faced challenges during the last two years with sourcing and maintaining packaging supplies and here at Worldpack, we’ve thrown ourselves head-first into tackling this. As we head towards 2022 and our warehouse expansion, here is what you can expect from us:

Greater efficiency

The move into larger premises means a more streamlined and efficient picking process, wider choice and greater service for our customers. Here’s how that looks in reality:

  • From 6,000m² to 12,500m² (we can fit a football field inside our new warehouse J)
  • Double the amount of pick locations
  • Two and half times more pallet locations than our current facility
  • More loading docks
  • Over 40% more capacity for more orders

2021 saw the rapid expansion and demand for packaging products due to increased online ordering and fulfilment in the pandemic. We’re responding to this continued demand by ensuring our warehouse capacity and capability moves in-line with this trend.

All our warehouse staff will be trained to drive our new reach trucks which will make picking and fulfilling packaging orders much quicker. The simplicity of our new picking locations and systems, alongside having all of our stock in one place, will also ensure this process is much faster than our current capability.

More staff

We’re adamant that our expansion won’t come at the cost of our customer service. We’re employing more warehouse staff to make sure that we maintain the high level of service that we offer all our customers. Plus, we’re introducing shift options to our warehouse staff to help us through the transition period and to overcome changes to work patterns. This means we will be spending more time on the warehouse floor, fulfilling and expediting your orders. It will also allow us to move your current stock seamlessly without it disrupting your ordering schedules and delivery timescales.

Personalised moving plans

We’re in the process of devising personalised moving plans for all our customers, which we’ll be sharing with you so that you know what to expect and when to expect it. We’ll be taking into account your ordering and delivery schedules alongside the volume of stock to be moved and we’ll be communicating with you every step of the way so that nothing is overlooked.

Reliability

The pandemic and other economic developments have placed packaging materials under extreme demand. Lockdowns, store closures and restrictions meant that we saw large peaks and troughs in demand for packaging during the last two years. We’re committed to making sure that future challenges such as these don’t affect what you need when you need it. With our expanded capacity, we’ll be able to make better choices about what stock we hold and how we store it, giving you peace of mind that we’re well equipped to handle future supply chain fluctuations.

“It’s an exciting time for Worldpack. We’re creating new jobs and bringing in young talent to help us shape what we offer to our customers and the future of Worldpack. These changes show that we’re more dedicated than ever to providing Service with Guts.” Ibo Toprak, Supply Chain Manager.
